Funding Information at Keiki Day Care
At Keiki Daycare, we are proud to offer Government funded early learning while continuing to provide the nurturing, high-quality experiences that make our setting special.

We follow Department for Education (DfE), EYFS and Haringey Council guidance, and we are always happy to talk families through how funding works.
Below, you’ll find detailed information on the available funding options and how to apply.
What Funding is available?
Families may be eligible for:
15 Hours
For all 3-4 year olds
570 hours per year
(15 hours per week)
30
Hours
For eligible working families: 9 months - 4 years
1,140 hours per year (30 hours per week)
Funding begins the term after eligibility is confirmed and the local authority pays providrs for the funded places directly.
How We Offer Funded Hours
Government funding is based on 38 weeks per year.
At Keiki, we stretch funded hours across 51 weeks so families can benefit from continuity of care throughout the year:

15 hours becomes 11.18 hours per week over 51 weeks
30 hours becomes 22.35 hours per week over 51 weeks
​
Any hours taken above your funded entitlement are charged at our usual hourly rate.
​
Funded hours must be used within the funded year and cannot be carried forward.
You may also be eligible for:
Free Early Learning for 2-year olds
For parents receiving additional support | Haringey Council
Tax-Free Childcare (TFC)
Government top-ups towards childcare costs
Universal Credit childcare support
Reinbursement of eligible childcare costs
Meals and enrichment at keiki
Government funding does not include meals or additional enrichment experiences.
At Keiki, we choose to offer both because we believe they genuinely enhance children’s wellbeing, confidence and development.
We ask for a voluntary contribution of £8 per funded day, broken down as:
£4 for freshly prepared meals and snacks
£4 for our enrichment programe
Our enrichment programme may include:
Music sessions
Children's yoga
Monthly pottery workshops
Play and learning support delivered by an external specialist
Other visiting specialists experiences throughout the year
These experiences are delivered by experienced external providers and are additional to the core EYFS curriculum.
The daily contribution is entirely voluntary and is not a condition of accessing your child’s funded place.
If you prefer not to opt in:

You may provide your child’s meals and snacks from home (in line with our Food Policy)
Your child will continue to receive high-quality early education in accordance with EYFS requirements.

We simply ask for four weeks’ written notice if you wish to change your opt-in status for the following term.
Nappies, wipes and creams are provided by parents.
Attendance
To protect your child’s funded place:

Children should attend agreed sessions regularly
Planned absences should be communicated in advance
Extended unexplained absence may need to be reported in line with Local Authority safeguarding and funding guidance
If we have a waiting list
We always aim to accommodate families wherever possible.

If we are unable to offer a place immediately due to a waiting list, we will support you by signposting to other suitable local nursery providers so that your child’s funded entitlement is not delayed.
